Thanksgiving Prep Part 1

Despite the organized displays of ingredients for holiday favorites–crispy fried onion topping next to a barrel of green beans, bags of brown sugar and of marshmallows beside the yams, one-use roasting pans alongside all manner of turkey parts, stuffing mixes, etc.–despite all of this, Thanksgiving has managed to sneak up on me! Is it just me? Do you feel as unprepared as I do for this eater’s frenzy of a holiday?

Anyway, if you’re looking to get a jump start on your preparation for Thursday, I thought I’d pull together all the apple recipes that I have tried this year here into this one post. I’m hopeful that you’ll find it useful and inspiring if you’re looking for that one more autumnal dish to round out your feast.

In no particular order:

Homemade Applesauce
Apple and Cheddar Scones
Caramel Apple Cheesecake Bars

And if you’d like to try something new with your turkey this year, how about a lovely Comforting Turkey Stew?

Stay tuned to learn about the other treats I am working on for Thanksgiving day! But in the meantime, how are you preparing for this all-American holiday? Baking? Prepping your ingredients? Clipping coupons for the Black Friday sales? Hunting for a turkey? Do tell!
